“We will work for the good of the people,” chairman Babi said.

There to witness the opening of the facility was Deputy Secretary for Department of Provincial Affairs and Local Level Government, Joe Warus.

Mr Warus said the establishment of Special Purpose Authorities is to assist LLGs bring services down to people at the lowest level of government.

Warus called on the Kutubu Authority Board members to work closely and not play .

Also opened were two teachers’ houses for the local primary school.

The Kutubu Special Purpose Authority is also taking a new trend in sponsoring local students to become teachers and health workers and serve the people.

Harry Tibi, a local spokesperson, said the community needs teachers and health workers who can work and stay with the community. Tibi said past experiences have seen public servants return to urban areas forcing the shutdown of clinics and schools.
