New Head Coach for PNG

By Daphne Rasehei – Emtv Online

Danish coach Flemming Serritslev has been named to lead the Papua New Guinea senior men’s soccer team, having prospered at the international level as an assistant coach with the Denmark national team, and six years in charge of the Danish Under 21s side.

Serritslev has already overseen a men’s training camp in preparation for the Oceania Nations Cup, which is being hosted in Port Moresby next year.

“I am glad to be here in Papua New Guinea and am very much looking forward to working with the team,” he said.

“It will be a big challenge next year for the team, but I like challenges and believe the team will make their country proud at the OFC Nations Cup.

“The players here are skillful and very talented and there are positive signs in the team.

“But we have to make use of every minute we spend in our training,” he said.

Serritslev takes over from Ricki Herbert, who resigned after the Pacific Games.
