A gold exploration and major oil palm project inthe Yangoru-Saussia District is signalling exciting times for the electorate.
Minister for Trade Commerce andIndustry, Richard Maru confirmed this during a recent visit to his electorate to inform people of current developments withinthe district.
Amongthem, he announcedthe initial stages of a gold exploration withinthe districtoand a billion dollar oil palm project.
The gold exploration will be carrlied out withinthe mountain ranges of West Yangoru overlapping intothe border of Maprik District.
Minister Maru’said he is hopeful that much ofthe deposits will be found within his electorate.
He also announced that a major oil palm project will launched inthe district soon.
This will bethe single largest agricultural project in Papua New Guinea and is expected to provide over 20, 000 jobs.
Minister Maru’said this will have an overwhelming effect onthe districts development.
Alreadythere are a number of infrastructure projects carrlied out withinthe education and health sector, and also road projects.
Escalating law and order problems is one area which Minister Maru has vowed stomp out.
These are priorities of his administration which will preparethe province for these major projects.
