The New Caledonia Olympic Committee have been impressed with the overall planning and preparation for the 2015 Pacific Games.
The delegation was here on a mission to visit the Games venues, organise logistics and meet with the Games Organising Committee and other stakeholders in preparing for the Games.
New Caledonia Olympic Committee Secretary General and Chef de Mission Christophe Dabin said, they are impressed with preparations for the Games, especially the huge task put in by the Games Organising Committee to get everything to be ready for next year.
“The main purpose of our visit is to have the first contact and see the different venues and also experience Papua New Guinea’s hospitality and the friendly people. We are here to get as much information as we could to assist team New Caledonia’s preparations. We know that PNG hosted very successful Games in 1991, and we are sure the 2015 Pacific Games will be bigger and better. We are looking forward to participating in next years’ Games and sharing in the spirit of the Games”.
Mr Dabin said, they will be sending a huge team of about 370 athletes and the visit is to ensure they get the right information to have in place all they need for the team to come to Port Moresby next year.
Mr Dabin also thanked the Games Organising Committee and the PNG Olympic Committee for making them feel welcome during their stay here.
New Caledonia will be sending in one of the largest contingents to the 2015 Games next year.
