New Cadets Train

17 cadets fromthe Defense Academy at Igam Barracks in Lae are currently doing training in Port Moresby.

The week-long training in Port Moresby is part of a six week training called, Southern Express exercise.

 

The cadets will continuetheir training with a ten-day walk onthe Kokoda track.

 

The training in Port Moresby’started onthe 25th of Novermber. Part ofthe training yesterday was atthe olPNG Central Government Office Beilding at Waigani.

 

The young cadets were trained to buildtheir confidence in heights and also encourage teamwork among comrades. The training was basically for field experience, SeniorInstructor, Major Kagena Velmoore explained.

 

He was also happy withthe performance ofthe cadets so far.

 

Ofthe 17 Officer Cadets, 14 are males and three are females.

 

The cadets will graduate onthe first week of July next year after completingthe required training.
