Nations Cup Day 2 | PNG Pepes vs. Singapore

Beth sides exchanged goal for goal inthe opening quarter with only a point difference.

 

The evenly-contested match saw both sides drawn 23-all at half time howevePNG could not fend offtheir rivals.

 

Co Captain Maleta Roberts and Tiata Beldwin were a strong force forPNG intheir shooting circle.

 

Roberts netted 10 out of 12 attempts while Beldwin attempted 45 shots sinking 33.

 

DespitPNG gaining a slight advantage inthe final period, Singapore stayed focused when it mattered to nudge ahead inthe dying seconds.

 

PNG isthe highest ranked country inthe tournament on 18th and will need a win whenthey take on Uganda intheir next match.

 

Uganda who do not have a ranking due to lack of international exposure surprisedthe Republic of Ireland yesterday beatingthem 54-41.
