40th National Game Fishing Titles | PNG | Day 2

By Skola Sengi – EM TV, Port Moresby

The 40th National Game Fishing Titles is set to be the biggest with 227 anglers registered on day-2 of the tournament.

More anglers are expected to register despite the teams from Australia, who were unable to sail up due to a recent cyclone.

Two teams from Lae, Madang and East New Britain are likely to arrive throughout the week.
A potential new National title was reeled in, as a 18Kg Mackerel was caught on a 6Kg line this morning.
Day 2 had its surprises when a 50 kg Yellow Fine tuna was hauled in, but was disqualified due to the boat coming in late.

This year’s tournament should be keenly fought with angler’s predicting some big fish to be caught and records to be broken.

After three weeks of rain, Port Moresby is predicted for clear skies, slight breezes, and near to perfect fishing conditions.
