It began at the Telikom Rumana 2015 Pacific Games Office, where Tura the Kokomo was ready to be welcomed by the NCD Governor Powes Parkop.
It was a 10 minute drive to Jack Pidik Park, where Tura was warmly welcomed by onlookers and children.
Under police escort, Tura made a safe landing at the Jack Pidik Park and was escorted by the Police band onto the stage.
This was Tura’s first public appearance and it won’t be the last as it continues to draw the games near, to the people.
On behalf of the NCD Governor Powes Parkop, the City manager Honk Kiap gave a pleasant welcome to Tura.
Kiap is optimistic the host city will be ready by then, with games venues and village, when more than 2000 athletes from around the Pacific Islands step into our shore.
These youngsters were eager to touch Tura, as the balloons went up into the air, ready to see the Kokomo leading the teams in the opening ceremony.
However for now, Tura, the Kokomo is preparing to take its flight to all 22 Provinces, bringing the message of the games.
