The Government will reclaim all public land in the National Capital District and put it to good use.
This came after the National Capital District Commissions in partnership with the government when the NCDC Land Trustee Board was established.
The commission’s role was to correct the illegal occupation of land.
Following last year’s action, where land was acquired in preparation for the 2015 games, the government has decided to register all the land belonging to the state
Yesterday, Prime Minister Peter O’Neill announced the establishment of the NCDC Land Trust.
Mr. O’Neill said by using the powers under the Lands Act, the government will have the right to claim all public land through the compulsory acquisition.
While thanking the government, NCD Governor Powes Parkop said PNG will be hosting many important events and no doubt NCDC will do its part to attract tourists.
The Governor will join forces with the three Moresby MPs to effect this.
