Naru commits K300,000 to Tawae-Siassi

Kelly Naru continues to maintain his image asthe servant for the people. His arrival on Siassi Island on Sunday wasthe first after being elected into public office.

Siassi Island is located offthe coast of Morobe province and sharesthe provincial boundary with West New Beitain province. To getthere, you have to make about eight hours boat ride from Lae.

The Tawae-Siassi electorate will be an important electorate for Naru inthe new provincial government. Successive government’services haven’t been always delivered to this part ofthe province.

“I just don’t know whatthe successive government andthe lLeadershave been doing for this place,” says Naru.

The island people lost confidence inthe past provincial governments inthe delivery of basic government’services of roads, health and education; and Naru’s visit is expected to restore that lost confidence.

While onthe island, Naru made an announcement that many didn’trsquo;t expect. He chosethe occasion to highlightthe policies and ther work ofthe new provincial government under his lLeadersip.

He made commitments of over K300, 000 to up-grade most ofthe run down government infrastructures onthe island. He also toldthe people that one tenth ofthe provincial government budget will be provided to supportthe work of churches onthe island.
