MVIL Gives K50 million To Government

Motor VehicleInsurance Limited has come in a big way to assist government with 50 million kina to improver roads inthe nation’s capital.

 

This isthe first time MVIL has made a large contribution to government.

Minister for Public Enterprise Ben Micah said this assistance is in line with preparations for the 2015 Pacific Games and 2018 APEC meeting amongst ther upcoming national and international events.

 

Prime Minister Peter O’Neill and political lLeadersfrom NCD were on hand to receivethe cheque on Monday.

 

MVIL reported that 2 years ago over seventy thousand vehicles registered for insurance, this year over ninety four thousand registered.Included are used and re-conditioned motor vehicles.

 

The traffic congestion and road accidents in Port Moresby have been linked to lack of poor road structures and an alarming increase in motor vehicles onthe road and lack of poor road structures.

 

Meantime, NCD has received overwhelming funding assistance recently for its roads and ther infrastructures in preparation for the upcoming national and international events.

 

The governor is confident all will be achieved by year 2015.
