MRA donate computer sets to girls’ school in AROB

The Mineral Resources Authority donated four sets of computers tothe only all-girls high school inthe Autonomous Region of Bougainville.

The donation was made following a request for assistance bythe member for Central Bougainville and Minister forInformation & Communications Jimmy Miringtoro.

The Saint Mary’s Asitavi High School is located inthe Wakunai District of Central Bougainville.

The presentation ofthe computers was withnessed by students’ staff, MRA officials, representative of Minister Miringtoro, and women leader Francisca Semoso.

The items comprised four desk top computer sets, four UPS, a printer and four printing cartridges. The four computers sets were fully kitted with Microsoft office programs and anti –virus softwares.

School principal Elaine Beris thanked MRA for the donation.

The St.Mary’s Asitavi High school was established in 1956 but was forced to close down in 1989 atthe height ofthe Bougainville crisis. It was reopened in 1992 and today it has over 300 students’enrolled.
