MP Mendani call for Inquiry into Gulf Projects

Kerema MP, Richard Mendani, has called for an inquiry into funds allocated for projects in Gulf province.

Mendani backed recent statements by Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, over the lack of development in Gulf.

“I welcome the call by Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, to look into the books of Gulf Provincial Administration,” said MP Mendani.

He called on both the Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister, Sir Leo Dion, to conduct an investigation into the books of Gulf Provincial Government.

In his recent statement, Kerema MP, Richard Mendani, alleged that funds granted for Kerema District and Gulf have been abused or diverted by the Gulf Provincial Government. Mendani added that no feasible development is taking place in Kerema.

The Kerema MP wants a quick response by the Prime Minister, stating people want constructive development agendas as most of the projects that is ongoing is not budgeted for.

MP Mendani said people have suffered enough and this abuse of power must stop as Gulf prepares to host the next LNG project in the country.
