Motu-Koita Rugby League 9s tournament into day 2

The Motu Koita Rugby League 9s tournament went into its second day of competition today.

With the elimination round coming up tomorrow, the round robin matches saw all teams putting forward their best game plays.
EMTV Sports caught up with three matches.

With nine minutes each way for all the matches, Poreporena Diho’s clash with Vabukori Blacks started off at a fast pace.

First minute in, and the Poreporena side secured a try with a runaway ball after an interception.

And another try in the 5th minute when the Vabukori Blacks defences broke. Both tries, went unconverted.

With 8 points for the Poreporena side, Vabukori Blacks responded with two touch downs in the 6th and 7th minute.

Conversions were also unsuccessful and by half time, the score line was 8 all.

In the second half, Poreporena did not waste time as they secured six 6 points lead after a converted try.

And just before full time, another try from the Poreporena side , which went unconverted again, sealed the match, at 18 – 8 in favor of Poreporena Diho.

And in the other matches, Poreporena Brother defeated Tatana Tigers 14 – 4.

While Mahuru Eagles thrashed Elevala Country, 18 – 4.
