Morobe Show 2017 Preview

More than 100,000 people are expected to be in Lae this weekend to attend the 56th annual Morobe Show.

Final preparations are underway at Lae’s Show Ground.

Police is expected to tighten security at the time of the event.

The road is expected to be packed with people coming in from other provinces, especially from the highlands to witness the 2017 Morobe show in Lae.

The members of the public are setting up their stalls to sell goods and items during the show.

A resident of Lae, Lydia Aisen says the event is a good time to sell, earn income and helps sustain the family.

Every year, security is tightened for the Morobe Show.

Last year, not much destructions were caused due to the presence of the police.

Lae’s Metropolitan Superintendent, Anthony Wagambie Jnr said Police would be on alert at the show ground, to attend to disturbances and disorders during the event.
