Morobe Governor: Name Contractor Paid K12 Million

The Morobe Governor, Kelly Naru says he wants to know which contractor was paidthe twelve million kina out ofthe one hundred million kina promised bythe Works Minister, Francis Awesa.

 

His call to havethe Prime Ministersack Works Minister Francis Awesa sacked still stands.

The people of Morobe have come out raising similar concerns raised by Morobe Governor Kelly Naru aboutthe one hundred million kina promised bythe Works Minister.

 

“The Governor saysthere is no money andthe National government’saysthere is, so who do we believe,” said Siassi man, Raukaula Aisi.

 

The members of Public saythe one hundred million kina thatthe Works Minister promised to futher improverthe poor state ofthe Lae Roadsust be given.

 

“The Governor saysthere is no money andthe government’saysthere is money,” said Car owner, Gilmai Frank.

 

The Prime Minister announced yesterday that road contracts were delayed because he has insisted on building concrete roads in Lae.

 

He said yesterday that contracts would be given out today.

 

 

Governor Naru’s call to sackthe Works Ministerstill stands.

 

It had come afterthe Works Minister publically said that funds have been transferred tothe Provincial Administration to fixthe Lae roads.

 

Bet according to Morobe Treasury no such funds has been given and for the twelve million kina, Governor Naru says that he wants to know which contractor was paidthe amount and for which road becausethere is nothing to show for it.
