Morobe disaster: MMJV tasked to maintain damaged roads

Morobe Mining Joint Venture has been tasked to carry out maintenance work alongthe Lae-Belolo in order to keepthe road open.

Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill gavethe authorization on Tuesday after flying over flood stricken areas on Monday.

Asthe rains continue, food is running short in Wau, Belolo and Menyamya.

Relatively stable wether conditions have allowed contractors to reopenthe road from Belolo to Lae.

MMJV’s David Wissink said o, Facebook, that roads are open for all vehicles except semitrailers.
