Moresby South Rugby League 9’s Tournament

The Moresby South Rugby League 9’s Tournament kicked off its first day atthe Sir William Skate Oval, Kaugere.

The purpose ofthe tournament is to revivethe rugby league spirit withinthe electorate, and to identify potential talent and teams for the season proper starting in March 2014.

 

The Tournament is sponsored by Sport and Pacific Games Minister and Member for Moresby South, Justin Tkatchenko. The minister’s aim is to see families and supporters come togther and celebratethe festive season and also have fun.

 

36 teams are currently participating in this tournament with one team from Kikori.In round one Pool D Angra Cowboys defeated Taurama Team 2, 10 points to 6.

 

 

Moresby South Rugby, also affiliated tPNGRFL, is embarking on organizing both local and international coaching and also to raisethe standard to semi-professional status.

 

The tournament will conclude on Monday.
