Moresby South People Recognised for Contribution to Communities

Minister of Moresby South, Justin Tkatchenko, presented awards to senior citizens from his electorate today for the distinguished services to their respective communities.

Former athlete, Mae Koime, was recognised for her service to her community and the country in front of thousands who gathered to witness the occasion.

She says after receiving the medal she will continue to help her Baimuru community.

Among the recipients was shooting sensation, Winifred Sauna, from Wanigela village who says she is grateful having received a medal, being the younger one among the elders from her village.

Other senior members that received awards were Geelong Auma, Glenda Kouvali, Dia Mouri, Ephata Samuel, Mr Turaho Morea and his wife.

Turaho says it was great to see what the Minister for Moresby South is doing and it is the first of its kind to see the government acknowledging citizens from Moresby South Electorates.
