Micah: Easy Pay System to be done away with

By Jack Lapauve Jr, EM TV – Port Moresby

The Easy Pay System used in around the country will be reviewed and done away with.

State Enterprise and Public Investment Minister, Ben Micah, has announced that a new system will be put in place.

Minister Micah made this statement during his State of Emergency awareness with PNG Power Staff and Management, in Madang recently.

Micah said the current system had many hiccups and loopholes, all adding to the many problems faced by PNG Power Limited.

He also added that a recent visit to Israel has resulted in talks with Israel Electrics, and a Chinese firm, in building a new pay and billing system to be introduced in the country.

Micah is confident the new system will be manageable, and help cutdown all unnecessary costs by PNG Power Limited.

The State Enterprise Minister is on a mission in carrying out the SOE proclaimed by the Government.  He will visit the Highlands region and parts of Momase in the coming weeks.
