The board ofthPNG Sustainable Development Program has acceptedthe resignation of Professor Ross Garnaut aPNGSDP’s nominee chairman and director for OK Tedi Mining Ltd.
Former opposition leader Sir Mekere Morauta has succeeded Mr Garnaut.
Sir Mekere says his predecessor played a pivotal role inthe growth ofthe new OTML since 2002.
Howeverthe government’s decision to stop Mr Garnaut from travelling tPNG has forcedthe board fast trackthe post ofthe Chairman.
