Mead Eyes Rugby League World Cup

Despite missing out on the Pacific test match against Cook Islands this weekend, due to injuries, Mead has decided to take it easy with the opportunity of leading the Kumuls into the Rugby League World Cup, as Captain.

Mead’s prospects, as part of his preparations, will be to focus on the NRL season, ahead of him, but with the rugby league world cup to be toward the later part of this year.

With draws standing at PNG taking on Ireland, Wales and USA, Mead said he is confident that PNG will get top results over the rivals, with a home crowd advantage.

He said a big representation of the Kumuls side is mainly from the SP PNG Hunters.

Mead says he is looking forward to playing alongside the SP Hunters and seeing the home crowd witness the game first hand and supporting the Kumuls.
