Business Groups inthe Angore Petroleum Development License Area arethe only ones who are yet to receivetheir Business Development Grants.
The grant totals up to K12 million and is part ofthe K120 million in BeG payments that was paid out to all business groups from PDL 1 to 7 and PDL 9’s ince 2010.
This money was withheld because of a court injunction taken out by oneLandowner Company restraining any form of payment to all ther landowner business groups.
Now, Trade Minister Riachard Maru will for the first time visitthe impacted areas of Angore to discuss and find a way forward for this payment to proceed.
He says funds won’t be released until all parties come to an agreement andthe true beneficiaries identiflied.
All representatives of business groups both in Port Moresby and Hela have been urged to be on site to meet and discuss withthe minister a way forward.
