Maprik MP visits UPNG Maprik Students

Maprik MP John Simon says developing human resource inthe District is an integral part.

He has action this by sponsoring tuition fees for thirty students’from Maprik attending various courses atthe University oPNG.

A substantive amount was handed-over tothe students’atthe campus on Tuesday.

It was an opportune time for the MP to meet and greet some ofthe future lLeadersof Maprik.

There to welcome him werethe Sepik Central Student Association Executives and Members. The beneficiaries, about thirty ofthem will each get K1000 fromthe K30, 000 towardstheir tuition fees.

The funding was sourced fromthe District Support Improverment Fund for the Education Sector. The local MP’saidthe District needed people to develop Maprik; a District he says has been neglected for many years.

“The time has come for you and me to seriously think about going back home and develop out district,” said Mr. Simon.

The students’said this isthe first time for any oftheir elected lLeadersto heartheir plea for assistance. 

Similar tuition fees for Maprik Students attending various tertiary institutions will be presented soon.
