Manus Islander embarks on a five year walk around the world

PNG Climate Changembassador Latin Qualican N’drihin has embarked on a five year walk aroundthe world.

He aims to tellthe globe thatthere is a real need to protect natural environment amidstthe onslaught of changes brought on by economic development.

Latin Qualican N’drihin fromthe Manus Province has been a staunch advocate of Climate change.

He’s been speaking to schools and different groups of people aboutthe need to be in harmony with nature. Now he’s got his mind set on taking his campaign tothe world stage.

Starting May 5th he will travel by foot through Vanimo, to Iran Jaya,the Middle EastoAfrica, fly to Australia and return tPNG by 2017. Allthe while speaking to different cultures about his pilgrimage.   

He’s estimating his campaign to cost fifty thousand kina; ten thousand kina for each year.

He has already secured ten thousand kina fromthe office of climate change. While Dunlop tyres has sponsored his foot wear.

The Climate Changessue has been addressed atthe political level by different governments but nothing workable has been agreed to.
