Mainohana Commences

Over a thousand students attending the Mainohana Catholic Secondary School in the Kairuku District of Central Province opened their 2014 academic school year just yesterday.

Classes were suspended following the burning down of a newly built classroom in November last year.

The Bereina Diocesan,  Education, School and the Provincial Education Board met yesterday and urged the school administration to work out a strategy to make up for the teaching time lost.

Provincial Education Board Chairman, Titus Hatagen, thanked the surrounding communities and the Catholic Agency for helping the Police investigation team with information.

The razed classroom was an initiative of Australia’s Incentive Fund Program.

Mr. Hatagen appealed to parents and citizens to continue working closely with the Police Investigation Team so that all suspects are apprehended and brought to justice.

Meanwhile, all students have been told to return to classes immediately.
