Madang Crime Investigators are still working to identify the suspects involved in the killing of a man and a woman.
The double murder triggered a clash between the Wagol and the Billiau Maus Rot settlers.
Police Boss Superintendent, Jacob Singura, said information on the suspects are still sketchy at the moment, and arrests will be made once the information is solid.
Singura said police backup, MS Units 13 and 15, will be arriving in Madang from Lae tomorrow, to help with the shortage of manpower, and to fast track the investigations.
PPC Singura is again appealing to both parties of the clash, and members of the public, to come forward with any reliable information, so that the suspects can be brought to justice and peace will be restored.
The situation is, at this time, still tense.
Meanwhile, police investigators from Goroka are already in the province to investigate the police shooting at Suaru village in Bogia, resulting in the killing of Suaru man.
Supt Singura said investigators left for Bogia today to identify witnesses, with the arrest of the now Former Police Station Commander, SIP Vincent Isanda, likely to be effective thereafter.
