The Lukim PNG Nau Tourism Exposition, began yesterday with various tourism groups showcasing their products or advertising their services.
The expo was opened to the public and attracted close to a thousand people.
It is part of the tourism week that will be held in Port Moresby from the September 25-27.
The expo included a variety of activities.
From live bands to traditional singsings, the displaying of traditional arts and crafts and advocacy on the different cultural feats that are annual in different parts of the county.
We spoke to organisers of the Sepik River Crocodile Festival, and Jacob Marek, the Festival’s secretary gave an insight into the festival.
“The Sepik Crocodile River Festival started in 2006 and this is the tenth year for us to host the festival,” Marek said.
The annual festival is held in August at the Ambunti Drekikia, District in East Sepik.
For this year, it was celebrated under the theme, “Celebrating Culture with Nature” and attracted close to two hundred tourists.
Corporate Businesses and State Owned Enterprises also took the opportunity to advertise their services.
