Constitutional Law Review Commission Chairman, Joseph Lelang, urged Government departments to use CLRC services, instead of spending millions on outsourcing law reviews.
Chairman Lelang said the Commission has highly competent commissioners and staff who are currently reviewing several laws and sees outsourcing as a waste of money.
CLRC Secretary, Dr Eric Kwa, said the figures they have put for outsourcing of law reviews by government departments is in the millions.
Lelang said currently the Commission is reviewing 30 legislations.
Five of these laws are directly under the legislative working group of the Conference on the Elimination of all forms of Discriminations against Women, or CEDAW, which is facilitated by the commission.
Much of this work is supported by UN Women.
