Concerned landowners in the PDL 1 and 7 area of the PNG LNG Project have argued for the withdrawal of the Interim Lists published by Petroleum and Energy Minister, Nixon Duban.
The landowners vented frustration over the process taken by the Department of Petroleum and Energy (DPE). They believe that the proper procedures should be followed for the good of the project.
The interim list was published in one of the dailies. The concerned landowners told EMTV News that the Clan Vetting Process is still outstanding, they claim those listed were handpicked.
The outspoken landowners say no proper consultation was done by the DPE. They want the Interim Committee to be dismissed and a meeting to be held with the DPE.
They have also made a call to PNG Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, to intervene and make sure proper procedures are followed.
They have also called on the three MP’s of Hela to work with the landowners for the good of the project, and for the benefit of resource owners.
