Laloki Psychiatric Hospital Staff Apppeal to Eda Ranu

By Meleasie Goviro – EM TV News, Port Moresby

Lama Rema, Senior Health Extension officer at the Laloki Psychiatric Hospital and spearhead of this operation, said the hospital has not paid water bills to Eda Ranu since the year 2010.

By then the water pressure was too low to supply water to the facilities pipelines due to the excessive number of illegal water connections to the main pipeline.

Rema said Eda Ranu was not notified of their current operations as their past complaints regarding the water issue have fallen on deaf ears.

They have now decided to take matters into their own hands because they feel their patients have suffered for too long.

The community residents also are now appealing to Eda Ranu to establish a supply of water to each of their houses in order to avoid future inconveniences.

Residents are willing to pay for water supply to maintain water supply to their homes.
