PNG Maritime Union has deferred plans to closethe Lae wharf afterthPNG Ports Cooperation responded to its grievances late on Wednesday.
The Union threat came after an advertisement bPNG Ports Cooperation to replacethe existing stevedoring companies, partly owned bythe Ahi and Labu landowners.
Representttative ofthe Ahi landowners, Dominic Mark saidthPNG Ports Cooperation CEO, Stanley Alphonse had responded totheir petition and presented to him last week.
Talks are now underway to resolvethe issue.
