Lae Wards To See A Health Boost

The twenty three wards in Lae will see a boost in its health service delivery in the next three months.

This was made possible through a partnership between the Lae MP, Loujaya Kouza, and Tribal Foundation.

A cheque of one hundred thousand kina, was presented to Tribal Foundation Director Operations, Michelle Hau’ Ofa, today, to kick start the program.

The money is from the Lae Districts Support Infrastructure Program.

This is the third year the foundation is operating in PNG. It operates on a need basis, and weight out what is required by the health centre, is really needed.

This first ever partnership with a nongovernmental organization aims to ensure each ward in Lae has a health facility in place.

The possibilities of this partnership was explored in 2012, and the first half of the K100, 000, was presented to Tribal Foundation Last year.

The money received will go into purchasing medical equipment for the Lae health centres.
