Kurumul Plantation Title Presented to Rightful Landowners

The title for the Kurumul Tea and Coffee Plantation in Jiwaka was presented tothe rightful landowners in Port Moresby today.

 

Lawyer representingthe landowners, Ian Sheppard, presentedthe title ending 13 years of dispute betweenthe landowners and neighboring clans overthe plantation.

He was pleased to see this come to fruition.

 

BePINInvestment Limited, which isthe landowner company, paid an outstanding of over K142, 000 to securethe title.

 

The Directors and Shareholders ofthe landowner company BePINInvestments Limited were present for the handover take over ceremony.

 

Company Chairman, Roy Mian, expressed relief as it was a significant achievement for his people.

 

He says,the plantation was abandoned a decade ago bythe previous owner EPA Management a Malaysian Company.

 

The ownership of Kurumul Plantation was confirmed on 11th October this year bythe lands Department andthe title transferred, after an outstanding payment of K142,309.30 was made tothe previous owner.

 

BePINInvestments Limited plans to concentrate mainly on growing Coffee asthey do not have expertise on growing Tea.
