Kulunga on Mt Hagen Killing

Police Commissioner Tom Kulunga expressed sympathy tothe family and friend ofthe Australian who was killed recently in Mt. Hagen and tothe woman who was sexually assaulted.

Robert Purdy, 62, was shot and killed by a group of men at point-blank and dlied instantly on Monday morning.  The woman who was gang-raped was been treated for her injuries.

Prime Minister Peter O’Neill was also angered atthe reports ofthe murder and demanded Police Commissioner to do all that is necessary to bring those responsible to justice.

Kulunga condemnedthe two inhumane and barbaric acts, describingthe perpetrators as uncivilized and cruel. He said police are working aroundthe clock to arrestthe criminals.

Commissioner Kulunga has appealed to specific community lLeadersinthe Kagamuga airport area to assist police with investigations.
