Operations atthe Komo Airfield inthe Hela Province have commenced.
Oil Search Managing Director Peter Betten said this was a major milestone forthPNG LNG Project.
The 3.2 kilometre Komo Airfield provides a gateway for large equipment to be transported tothe Project’s Hides Gas Conditioning Plantowhich will treat natural gas and condensate fromthe Hides and Angore fields, using Antonov-124 cargo aircraft.
Project developer Esso Highlands confirmed thatthPNG LNG Projectoremains on track for first LNG sales in 2014.
