Komba LLG Challenges Morobe Governor and Kabwum MP on rural service delivery

The Morobe Governor  and  Kabwum MP, Bob Dadae, have been challenged to  prove their  political worth  by people in the  Komba LLG of the  Kabwum District.

The call made in Satwag village by local leaders  comes amid frustration over difficulty in accessing  government services.

Satwag is a 13-hour walk to the nearest access road  that leads to Kabwum Station.

As Port Moresby boasts multi million kina  infrastructure development praised  and condemned on social media,   Satwag village in the Komba LLG  remains unconnected by road with its health post without a health worker.

The delegation announced the opening of 68 new projects which included  teacher houses. But the frustrations of the people remain.

Komba was one of several places in Kabwum  hard hit by the drought earlier in the year. Relief  supplied to the villages in this region was  inadequate  restricted by funding  and transport problems.

The Morobe Governor  travelled  last Sunday to  Satwag.  A trip  which included a cash handout of 20 thousand kina in cash.  And  clutching the cash in one hand, the LLG president, Yunke Mulubiang, lashed out at the Kabwum MP, Bob Dadae.

Much of this area remains unconnected by road. The only way to get to these inland areas is by walking for flying in by plane. It is expensive for people in the villages.
