Kelly Naru condemns shooting of Lae mother

by Sylvester Gawi – EM TV, Lae

Morobe Governor Kelly Naru joined grieving relatives of Moana Pisimi this morning at Butibam Village and called for justice over her killing.

Governor Naru condemned the shooting and demanded for speedy investigations into the incident.

The Morobe governor, despite being ill over the past weeks, was on crutches as he met with family members and relatives at Butibam Village.

Naru is the first political leader to visit the Haus Krai and take a stand against the killing that happened on New Year’s Eve.

While offering his sincere condolences to Pisimi’s relatives, Naru said he wants to see the perpetrators brought to justice. He thanked Police Commissioner Geoffery Vaki for sending an investigation team from Port Moresby.

Naru says his government supports a police investigation to establish the truth in this murder and bring to justice the person who pulled the trigger.

Family members are grief-stricken with the loss of the 24-year-old mother of two.

Kelly Naru’s call was to see police investigations bring out the truth, which will bring closure to the grieving relatives. Investigators from Port Moresby arrived today in Lae and will be thoroughly investigating the incident.
