Katy Perry rejects her Christian Beliefs

Katy Perry has renounced her Christian roots, opting for a “freer” type of spirituality.

“I don't believe in a heaven or a hell or an old man sitting on a throne”, were Perry’s words in a recent interview with Marie Claire Magazine.

Katy Perry one of 21st century’s world famous superstars is the daughter of two Christian Ministers.

Born as Kathryn Hudson, a gospel singer, she grew up in a Christian home and learned how to speak in tongues, a gift of the Holy Spirit, the only language used to communicate with God where Satan will never understand.

While her parents are out ministering the word of God as Christians, Perry has been rediscovering her beliefs as an individual who is keeping an open mind.

Perry has now left behind her Christian faith, however finds spirituality through therapy and the writings of Eckhart Tolle, an author who is famous for his pieces on metaphysics and spirituality.

The “Firework” singer went on to tell the magazine, “I believe in a higher power bigger than me because that keeps me accountable.

“I’m not Buddhist, I’m not Hindu, I’m Not Christian, but I still feel like I have a deep connection with God. I pray all the time-for self control, for humility. There’s a lot of gratitude in it. Just saying thank you sometimes is better than asking for things.”, she added.

Although the pop queen claims she is no longer a Christian, she still seems to be on a spiritual path.
