The Electoral Commission says it needs K80million to runthe Local Level Government elections.
Fifty million kina has been allocated but it’s yet to be released tothe Commission.
This position was outlined tothe Minister responsible and Deputy Prime Minister Leo Dion yesterday. Mr. Dion met with Electoral Commission officials on election dates as well as boundaries.
Another concern is that LLGs inthe Highlands Provinces do not want presidents to be elected bythe people.
