Young basketball enthusiasts took part in a week long school holiday basketball clinic at Ela Beach in the nation’s capital.
Following the recent success of the under 19 Papua Blacks at a competition in Darwin, Australia, over Easter, coordinator of the basketball clinic, Veitu Diro said while the focus was on the senior players, we must seriously look at investing in future talent.
The school holiday basketball clinic is aimed at teaching school students interested in basketball, the fundamental skills of the sport.
The basketball clinic has proven to be successful with girls and boys, between the age of 9 and 17 from all around Port Moresby attend the clinic.
The turnout for the basketball clinic was phenomenal with over 70 young basketballers participating on the final day of the clinic.
The Junior Basket Coaching Clinic began on Monday and ended today, with the hope of starting a junior basketball competition next month.
