Juffa Donates K150,000 To YWAM Medical Ship

by Marie Kauna – EMTV Online, Port Moresby

The YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Medical Ship has helped many rural communities throughout Papua New Guinea, through the health services and expertise its medical volunteers provide.

Delivering better quality health services throughout the country is an important task, one which requires a significant chunk of funding in order to achieve.

Oro province is one of many across PNG that have benefitted from work undertaken by the group, with Oro Governor, Gary Juffa, presenting a cheque of K150,000 to assist in covering operational expenses.

Other major contributors to YWAM Medical ships include Steamships Trading Company, InterOil, Puma Energy, PNG Ports Corporation, Milne Bay and Western Provincial Governments, and Australian Aid.

Governor Juffa commended the medical ship and its team of health experts saying ” What has stood out to me about the work of YWAM is their commitment to build relationships and to work alongside our people in seeing good outcomes.”

YWAM Medical Ships Managing Director, Ken Mulligan, thanked the Governor for his commitment on behalf of his people, and said he was grateful for the Oro Provincial Administration’s support.
