Juffa: Administration To Undergo Restructure

by Theckla Gunga – EM TV News, Port Moresby

The Northern Provincial administration will undergo a major restructure as a measure to uplift the standard of service delivery currently being provided.

Following the appointment of the new administrator Sam Begogo, Northern Governor Gary Juffa announced the planned restructure following experiences had with the continuous break down of public service within his province.

Juffa said the administration lacked a client service chapter and a code of conduct for their employees, but that is all about to change.

Amongst the plans to improve workflow will be eradicating payroll fraud.

“There are five people who are on the pay roll at present, all of which are deceased”, Juffa said. “I also found that a medical doctor who had left public health service has been receiving about K2,000 a fortnight for the past five years,” said Juffa.

He said his people are willing to work, but the efforts taken by the line agencies are not reflecting how he wants the province to perform under his leadership. The restructure will involve the creation of new positions within the administration, giving the people of Northern the level of service they thoroughly deserve.

The move to restructure the entire administration is purposely aimed at achieving transparency, the responsible management of public funds and to increase the standard of service delivery, particularly in Popondetta.
