The Basketball Federation of Papua New Guinea (BFPNG) today announced the appointment of Executive Officer, Joel Khalu.
In his capacity as Executive Officer, Khalu will cover various development programs to elevate the profile of basketball in Papua New Guinea.
With five years of experience under his belt in the coaching division and three Queensland Basketball League Championships, Khalu makes for a perfect candidate to take the federation further.
Khalu is no stranger to the basketball fraternity, he’s coached the national men’s team since 2013, and was part of the team’s highest achievement in the history of the PNG men’s national team, during the Pacific Games.
With a wealth of experience as a player and a coach, Khalu fits the role perfectly.
Now the newly appointed Executive Officer, his focus is taking Basketball PNG to the world’s stage.
Khalu’s appointment was through a joint initiative between FIBA in Oceania, and BFPNG to develop the capacity of basketball in country.
While improving the status of PNG basketball, both regionally and globally, development of the code will remain a must for Khalu.
