Jiwaka yet to draw up budget plan

The new Jiwaka province is yet to draw up a plan on how to implement the money allocated in the 2013 Budget.

Jiwaka Governor Dr.William Tongamp is pleased with the seventy-eight-million-kina allocation and hopes to see major changes in the province.

With an acting Administrator andTreasurer in place, the team will draw up a budget plan for the province.

“It is the public servants responsibility to deliver service. Our duty is to sit down and frame the budget; and see how we can expand the money allocated in the 2013 budget,” says Governor Tongamp.

“The educated public servants will really have to start delivering back to the people. We will make sure they do their work.

Construction of Headquarter

Although 30 million kina has been allocated for the construction of the Headquarters for Jiwaka Province, the location is still an outstanding issue.

A Development Forum planned for next month will address this, plus other areas.

Governor Tongamp is inviting all educated Jiwakans to partake in this important meeting. He said it will be an opportunity for Jiwaka men and women to contribute ideas to the development of the new province.

The forum will be held in the Province towards the end of December.
