Christian teachings will be included in Police duties as Acting Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Orim Piamia told residents in Jiwaka capital, Banz yesterday.
“I am strictly ensuring that morning devotion is compulsory in all police stations in Jiwaka and the Word of God shall be the foundation of Jiwaka.”
He quoted the Christian Bible on Psalms 11 verse 3 and Psalms 127 verse 1 while making the announcement. An odd sight to many in Banz as the Blue-uniformed officer, he told the residents that there must be Godly principles in their duties.
The PPC urged the community leaders and general public to support his work to make Jiwaka a home for everyone to live freely.
Michael Awaliye, Secretary for Jiwaka Students and Graduates Association affirms the PPC’s announcement is an eye opener for the people of Jiwaka.
“It is a bold and right decision and I believe there should be major improvement in Law and Order in the province.”
Law and Order being a giant task in Papua New Guinea, many hard working police officers of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary are doing what they can do with minimal resources.
