Jiwaka K15 million Budget Plan

The new Jiwaka province inthe highlands has handed down its budget of K15 million.

Molka Lodge in Minj, Jiwaka province was filled with officers fromthe Provincial Budget Priority and Planning Committee. It wasthe first meeting ofthe new province.

Also present wasthe Chairman Governor William Tongamp and his deputy Philip Kapal,the former Chairman of Jiwaka Transitional Authority. 

Governor William Tongamp says projects will now be implemented since all public service functions are inthe province and top ofthe development plans are infrastructure and education.

Governor Tongamp said with limited time to expedite,the funds have been allocated to high priority sectors.Infrastructure development for Jiwaka topsthe budget listofollowed by Education and Health where K6 million has been shared equally. Law and Justice, Economic and Agriculture plus Administration costs are all K1. 5million each.

He said withthe budget already locked for the different sectors, public servants must ensure work is implemented withinthe given time frame.
