Ipatas Slams Rumours

Enga Governor, Sir Peter Ipatas, has slammed what he is describing as ‘desperate politics’ by the member for Moresby North-West, Sir Mekere Morauta.

In a statement this afternoon, Sir Peter said Sir Mekere should stop using his name in attempts to destabilize the government.

According to the Enga Governor, he is the governor of his province, and he has reaffirmed that it is the only position he wants to hold.

Sir Peter has been progressive in his push to build Enga’s human resources through education.

Sir Peter reacted to reports that his name, along with that of other senior politicians had been mentioned by Sir Mekere, and the opposition, as potential prime ministers after next year’s vote of no confidence vote.

He described it as ‘utter nonsense, and make-believe’ by Sir Mekere.

He also said that the opposition should look at who is making a play for its own leadership.
