FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Local Organising Committee CEO, Seamus Marten, says they are close to confirming the dates of various international friendlies.
These matches may be held next month here in Papua New Guinea, along with the Oceania Nations Cup.
The committee are still in discussions with Japan and the United States of America, to confirm the order of matches.
These matches are key friendlies in preparation for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in November. The Papua New Guinea team will face sides from both Japan and the United States.
Marten said with the help of PNGFA President and FIFA Vice President, David Chung, they were able to organise these matches.
With USA and Japan to play a series of matches in Papua New Guinea before the World Cup, this will play a crucial part in PNG’s preparations.
