The launch of the IFMS was witnessed by office’s of government departmen’s in Port Moresby this morning.

Dr Ngangan said a lot of time and resources were spent to make the system work. He said the old accounting system, PGAS, is a solid system but has limitations.

Three departmen’s; the Department of Justice and Attorney General, PM and NEC, and DPM, are already using IFMS. There are plans to roll out the system to 30 departmen’s this year and eventually have it operating in provinces and districts as well.
